GREENSBORO, N.C. — Drivers in Greensboro should plan for two daytime lane closures on Tuesday, Oct. 13, as city crews work on sewer and water lines along New Garden Road and East Wendover Avenue.
On New Garden Road, one southbound lane from Crosstimbers Drive to Timberoak Drive will be closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. due to sewer line work. The work may cause minor traffic delays along the corridor.
Across town, one eastbound lane of the 1700 and 1800 block of East Wendover Avenue, from Huffman Street to Gatewood Avenue, will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. due to water line repairs. Wendover is lined with shopping centers and restaurants along much of its length, so midday traffic can back up quickly.
At both sites, signs and traffic cones will be in place, and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid the areas. Dates and times may change due to weather or last-minute changes in the work schedule.
Homes near the East Wendover repairs may see discoloration or cloudy water after the work. The fix is to run cold water for a few minutes through a faucet without an aerator, such as an outside spigot or bathtub, until it runs clear.
